http://tos.mx/VNXwnbK --imported this successfully but does not show up any where...can you help
Sorry to say that you're not following the discussion and misunderstood my post. The link that I posted is to display that I do know how to make a custom column in a watchlist for a complicated code. The custom column that I'm discussing is for the Trend Reversal indicator. Solving that problem is the issue that I'm asking. Please read my previous posts. This link http://tos.mx/VNXwnbK is only an example. It is not the problem that I am asking about. I already have this link http://tos.mx/VNXwnbK as a functioning custom watchlist column and I'm not asking about it. I'm asking about making the Trend Reversal Scanner into a custom watchlist column, because I went through the same process to try to make it as the example link that I posted. The link is only an example to show you that I know the process, but it is not working for the Trend Reversal indicator. So I did use the process that MerryDay suggested and it worked for the link that I posted, but did not work for the Trend Reversal indicator.

These are two different unrelated indicators. One is the Wavy Tunnel indicator which I did not have any problem with and is already functioning in my ThinkOrSwim and the other is the Trend Reversal Scanner which I went through the same process, but I cannot get it to function. Although I did go through the process of using the Wizard to apply the code to a custom column, there is something in the code that is preventing it to complete the process. This is what I cannot figure out over numeral attempts. I came to a point after a large number of attempts to try to get it to work, so I'm seeking help from this forum to find out why. So the last several posts that you showed me is not related to what I'm asking, because you're showing me the use of an indicator that I already have in use. You're showing me how to use the Wavy Tunnel indicator and not the Trend Reversal Scanner. The Wavy Tunnel indicator is not related to the Trend Reversal Scanner and is not my question.

Does anyone know how to use this indicator in a custom watchlist? This is what I've got so far and I cannot get it to work. Help someone?

Ok. I made the Trend_Reversal_Scanner Alert, but I need it to repeat for every buy signal. Does anyone know how to do that?

I use this one all the time. If I'm watching a certain ticker but want to watch/look at others, I simply open a multiscreen with the symbol in it and surf on the other screen the alert will still popup for all you have open with the indicator on. I use this in as short as 1 minute time frame. But I only play certain symbols/well known symbols. for example AAL AMC AMD DAL JBLU JETS NKE PEP KO SPXL TQQQ TSLA T TAN UBER LYFT AAPL SNAP SPY /MES QQQ. I want to learn how to convert this to Trade Station to auto trade with it. You still have to know the basics and understand trend direction but you can make consistent money with it, even on just a few stocks. I didn't make this I just added sound. But I hope it helps you out.

@BenTen I need help with the if condition on this indicator.

Code:
if showPriceBubble == 1 then
{
AddChartBubble((barnumber and U1), if isUp then low else high, if showarrows and signal > 0 and signal[1] <= 0 then "Reversal:" + low else "" , if Colorbars == 3 then Color.PLUM else Color.UPTICK, no);
AddChartBubble((barnumber and D1), if isUp then low else high, if showarrows and signal < 0 and signal[1] >= 0 then "Reversal:" + high else "" , if Colorbars == 3 then Color.PLUM else Color.DOWNTICK, yes);
}

I have set input showPriceBubble = 1

I am getting a syntax error with the if condition. What am I doing wrong here?

@graci117 Here's an example:

Code:
input bubbles = yes;
AddChartBubble(bubbles and signal, low, "example text", Color.light_green, no);

Hi everyone, just started using this indicator (the script on the first post) and I'm amazed at its accuracy. It's really helped me take a more cautious approach to my trading.

Id like to add a simple sound effect when either a green or red bubble pop up. It would be great if the sounds were different for each color. Any idea how I can go about that? I'm not a pro when it comes to thinkscript but I'm not totally unfamiliar when it comes to basic coding.

Thanks!

  • You can read these guidelines of how to find the posts in this thread that talk about alerts. This simple trick will allow you to skip reading all 71 pages and let you just read the posts about how to write alerts for this indicator.
  • This is a repainting indicator so its "amazing accuracy" is not really amazing. Go to this post to find out more.
  • Lastly, the post about the basics of a good strategy might be of interest.

@MerryDay Thanks for the heads up. I did indeed find what I was looking for using the search.

And of course Ill be cautious using this script, I was just comparing it to other trend reversal indicators I experimented with. I always refer to my RSI and 30 day hourly chart before making any commitments. This is just a nice addition.

Someone shared this indicator via a thread on Futures forum. I don't know the original name so I called it the reversal indicator. It uses moving averages, ZigZag pattern, and Fibonacci to generate reversal signals on your chart.

One thing to note is that this indicator will repaint. The Buy and Sell signal will disappear if the candlestick closed above or below the stop loss line. You can use that as a trigger point to cut losses early if that happens.

  • Green = Buy Signal Bars
  • Purple = Neutral
  • Red = Sell Signal Bars

There's quite a few solutions on this thread but a lot of them either didn't work or the alert lagged. I found this code on page 66 to do exactly what I wanted - fire off an alert once a bubble pops up.

Rich (BB code):
#Alerts
input alerts = yes;
def bullish2 = if signal > 0 and signal[1] <= 0 then 1 else 0;
def bearish2 = if signal < 0 and signal[1] >= 0 then 1 else 0;
Alert(alerts and bullish2[1] == 1, "Up   ", Alert.BAR, Sound.Chimes);
Alert(alerts and bearish2[1] == 1, "Down ", Alert.BAR, Sound.Bell);

Btw, not stepping on your toes @MerryDay. Just sharing the solution I found works best. Perhaps Ben could share this code snippet on the first post?

That doesnt seem to be how this indicator works. If a green bubble gets stopped out it will just disappear and wont change to a red bubble until it confirms a downward trend. The code I posted will alert you whenever a buy or sell bubble pops up.

The below instructions were provided in post# 1387. For future reference, here is a hack for when you don't want to read all 71 pages of a post, just to find the scan, an alert, or a watchlist.

Click on the scanner.
  1. Click on +Add filter
  2. Click on the pencil icon next to the filter you just added
  3. Click edit
  4. In the left column, click on the 1st pull-down window, click study
  5. Type in whatever you named the shared study
  6. Under Plot, click on the pull-down window, choose upArrow
  7. In the middle column, choose is true
  8. Save

Fantastic!!! It's working the way I wanted... Tons of thanks for your kindness.

Hello: May I ask for another help. Is there a way to show bid and ask size on a chart. The bid and ask Indicator is available but couldn't find a size indicator.

No... That data is not available via Thinkscript, only at the platform level...
