How to Fix "importing shared item" Error in ThinkorSwim

If you look at the image that you posted, you will notice that you did not copy and paste the shared link correctly. Your paste attempt has the extra characters AGAIG after the link.

I had several shared links from some of the traders that I saved but now when I click on the link to share the charts, new ones and old ones , a blank page just shows up not the picture of the chart or the link to save it to TOS? Has anything changed for this to be working like this? Thanks in advance.

TOS has periodically had problems with opening shared links if you click on the hyperlink. The following method works 100% of the time.

To Open A Shared Link

1. Hover your mouse over the link
2. Right-click, chose copy link address
3. In TOS, click on gear icon at top of TOS app
4. Click on Open Shared Item
5. Ctrl-V to paste link address
6. Click on Preview
7. Down in the Import As box: Name the study, whatever you want
8. Click Import

Some additional steps have been added to the tutorial to resolve your difficulty.

To Open A Shared Link

1. Hover your mouse over the link
2. Right-click, chose copy link address
3. In TOS, click on gear icon at top of TOS app
4. Click on Open Shared Item
5. Ctrl-V to paste link address
6. Click on Preview
7. Down in the Import As box: Name the study, whatever you want
8. Write down the name that you gave the study
9. Click Import
10. Click on the study settings (the flask) at the top of your chart
11. Type in the name that you gave the study
12. Select the study
13. Click on Add Selected Study. This will put the shared study onto your chart

I would like to use either/both as an upper study for 5 or 10 minute time frames in order to strengthen the validity of 1 or 2 minute signals, and to corroborate some lower studies that I utilize. Can they be restored?

Be aware that left-clicking on shared links has been hit or miss (mostly miss) since January 2021 when Schwab first acquired TDA.

It is NOT recommended to left-click on shared links.
It is recommended to always follow these instructions.
