Is ThinkorSwim down? I can't login: Update Error Build

Is ThinkorSwim currently down for anyone? What are the current problems and status with their server? I can't login to TOS at the moment.

Crashed right at 9:30 am just like yesterday. My other platforms/brokers are running fine. Just without my pretty charts/scans. Sorry for the folks that do not have an alternative broker. Trading blind is difficult.

Yep, gotta have a backup. I used ToS for a couple hours pre-market, no issues. Then right at open it crashed. Two days in a row... Nice avatar btw

Well, that was fun... NOT...!!! Hopped in and bought a SPY Option Call about a minute or two in only to have TOS freeze up while attempting to enter a trade on NIO... By the time I realized TOS wasn't working and got to see where I was, I was up $30 but by the time I could get situated to where I could sell at a profit the market had turned and I got out for a $23 loss instead of a $30 profit... I guess it could have been much much worse, but . . . .

Today, Tuesday at 12:04 pm Eastern, is a repeat of Monday: Forever "Installing updates...". Yesterday, when it finally finished updating after 4 hours, it then said it couldn't connect to the internet to log in, and then finally it logged in, it continuously said it was losing internet connection and not updating charts. The whole time the internet was working with other websites/applications. Today so far it is still "Installing updates..."

I wonder how much the premium service would cost per month...I'd pay $30 maybe $50...but not more than that...just to make sure I get real live data with no delays...Some other brokers are charging $100 per month unless you make more in commissionable trades...I have too many indicators and scanners that would not work on any other platform...not much choice here really for me but to pay to avoid all of this.

Hey, has anyone else clicked on Installing Updates to see where the progress list is hung up...??? For those who are unaware, if you click on that text you will get a progress box on the right side of the TOS modal... I've uninstalled and done clean installs of three different releases and all of them have hung at Java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748) of the 1965.0.61 release... Anyone else hung at that same point, or somewhere else...??? Rather than just complain, maybe we can actually help TD-Ameritrade resolve the issue...

I've been poking about as I've been an IT Tech for 30+ years and it appears that TOS's own servers are having problems communicating with each other... So, regardless of whether the TOS program/app can reach out to their servers, the multiple servers can't communicate with each other... I've been going through the programs log files...

I'm @ $45/mo (I think) for TC2000. It is decent, still prefer ToS but TC is super low resource and is reliable.

True...but the "free" version gets you these BS results...the delay in data is more than enough to make you lose money on trades when you're using smaller timeframes...Its a shame because TOS is by far the best I have used. Now they just need to get things in order with the platform so its not as laggy as it came to be.

Waaaaaaay back when cable TV was being rolled out, whenever it went down (it was quite often), my mom would take note of this and go and have the bill prorated. If I pay for a premium service of any kind, I still do this, not really for the money, it's just a pain in the arse for them just like it was for me.

Bah...!!! Mine was working perfectly until I logged out to see if deleting usergui would resolve the error for members but it didn't... Should have left well enough alone... So much for experimenting...

Should have left that instance open and experimented with my second install... DOH...!!! Still running fine on two other trading workstations...
