Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any application that can help restore TOS window positioning when restarting a windows 10 machine. I have 4 monitors. On my 4th monitor is where I have a few nicely positioned windows. For some reason, TOS fails to restore the windows on that monitor, even after saving the workspace. I believe TOS runs java so windows applications for grids like PowerToys/fanzy zones don't work. Fanzy zones lets you grab application windows and quick drop them into a sized grid. Unfortunately, TOS just doesn't work. I have also tried another program called PersistentWindows to restore the windows to the correct location, but it doesn't work after restarting windows.
I have read at least one other post, where people claim that TOS only supports 3 monitors but who knows.
I need to preface this with: while both my rigs have multi-monitors; my
trading rig does not have ToS open across all screens. You want to keep your trading space, lean and mean.
The more charts, detached widgets, watchlists that you have opened, the more lag, you will see.
On to your question:
I started out w/ four non-4k monitors, and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 had no problem.
Upgraded to three non-4k monitors and one 4k monitor, which is when I first started having my ToS workspace not loading perfectly.
The graphics card lag was such that ToS belatedly became aware of the 4k monitor and thus loaded its elements incorrectly.
Solution:
Upgraded to ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 and I changed the display order, with the 4k monitor first. Solved my problem.
Current setup:
I upgraded to two 4k monitors and two non. Put the 4k monitors in 1st and 2nd display order.
Most of my workspace displayed correctly. With some watchlists, the message center, and the detached position statement being incorrectly placed. I need to upgrade my graphics card, but for now, I live with a few isolated detached items out-of-place.
My setup is extreme. It is not required for most retail traders to invest successfully.
Hope this helps.
