Schwab-TDA Merger: Thoughts, Rumors, Sightings...

I was migrated to Schwab from TDA over the labor day weekend. I'm able to trade with Schwabs streetsmart edge cloud platform. Since I'm on a Macbook. I've been very disappointed in the streetsmart edge platform. Granted it's my first time trying to use it. But I'm thoroughly unimpressed. I can see my account when I log into TOS with my schwab account. But my account is "...not available for trading." After speaking with a schwab rep. today. He said my account won't be able to trade using TOS until, "...later in the year." Schwab didn't think this one through. Or they really would rather see TOS be left on the side of the road. Either way, I won't be with Schwab very long unless they get TOS working ASAP.

It was announced from the beginning that a working version of the ToS app would not be available to us, Schwabbies until the end of 2023.

BUT the good news is that when the app is fully-up and working; it will have all of our current functionality.
None of ToS features were downgraded when they ported the app over to Schwab servers.

Hello,

Will we still have the ability to run and apply custom code for chart studies and scans when the transition from TD to Schwab takes place? I value the fantastic coded features of TOS and hope they won't be removed.

Thanks

my tos account has been assigned to be fully moved on Nov 6th. Is there anyway that I can still access tos after that? I primarily use tos for my charts and I don't think I could trade without them. please advise.

There is a beta version of Schwab ToS available to select Schwab clients.
But it currently has limited functionality.
It is scheduled to be fully functional "toward the end of the year".

Until then Schwabbies and soon-to-become Schwabbies place their trades through the Schwab website or
the Schwab StreetSmart® trading platform app.

Hey guys, first time poster but have relied on this forum to build my strategies for a while. Anyways, my account was officially switched to Schwab today and I lost ALL of my custom code. I am really good at backing up my workspace and even after that, everything is gone. I am not sure if there is a work around to get it back, but I highly recommend manually backing up all your code (as in - copy and paste all of your scripts in like Word). I lost everything and I would hate the same to happen to anyone else.

Good News:
None of your "everything is gone" forever.
It is just that none of our ToS saved studies, charts, or any other information stored on TDA servers has been migrated over, YET.

Once the Schwab ToS beta version is fully functional, all saved data will be migrated over.

So i won't be able to login into tos and see my charts as I do now? I just chart on tos I dont do any trading there... is there a workaround to still be able to use tos charts somehow after my account has been transferred?

The Schwab ToS beta version is getting more functional each week.
But no, it is not a fully-working app currently.

If your question is can you back up your indicators and save shared chart links so that you will be able to manually moved your custom studies over to the Schwab ToS beta app, the answer is yes.

How to back-up:

How to create a shared chart link:

then make a text file containing each link that you create.

Is TOS going away? Is this a mandatory switch over eventually?

Everyone will be a Schwab client with a Schwab account number and working with the Schwab ToS app by March 2024.

ToS is NOT going away. Full ToS functionality will be available for Schwab clients toward the end of the year.

Everyone that is migrating over to Schwab before the end of the year. Will have gotten emails confirming their migration date by now. Only those migrating before the end of the year, will experience a brief disruption in their ability to have full functional access to ToS.

If you have not gotten an email announcing your migration date; then you are not moving over any time soon. And therefore, when you do migrate, you will not experience any disruption in access to the ToS app.

Maybe I missed it but is there any word on bookmap? Im still using the trial version for a free ES DOM along with gocharting for footprints. I think this might be the lowest price point orderflow capable setup you can run right now, i guess if they ditch bookmap I will have to stop being cheap and upgrade to jigsaw

There has been no indication that Schwab is dropping Bookmap.
