Reference Syntax and Indicator Settings in ThinkorSwim

Here is one way to find a Reference Syntax and the accompanying indicator settings:

Detailed Reference Syntax

Step 1: Type the Indicator Name into the Scanner

Step 2: Hit save and then click on ThinkScript Editor

And there you have your indicator's syntax and all the available variables.

Step 3: Cut and paste and then change the variables back to their defaults

I realized it was out of date and have updated it with instructions
for ThinkOrSwim as of Sept 09, 2025

Here is one way to find Reference Syntax and the accompanying indicator settings:

Detailed Reference Syntax

Step 1: Open the scan tab
Open the dropdown for Study then\
Select Custom

Step 2:
Click thinkscript editor
Change the text from what is there to what
Study or Indicator we want the syntax for]
In this case Momentum()

Step 3:
Click Condition Wizard this will allow us to edit the Indicator

Step 4:
Then click Edit
This brings up the dialog with the parameters
Set up the parameters as you want them
Then click Save

Step 5:
That brings up a dialog with the thinkscript code that you can copy and paste into a script
