Is it only the last candle that repaints or do previous candles repaint as well?
@HODL-Lay-HE-hoo!
The study does not technically “repaint” if it was repainting all signals would be perfect. (In so far as I understand) the most recent signal can appear and disappear. It depends if the higher ag signal bar has closed yet… I need to update the code to reflect if the signals higher ag bar is closed. I generally use it on a lower timeframe. For example if an arrow on the 5 min plots it is not possible for it to “repaint” after 2 bars later because if the signal plots on the 5min because ag 2 signal is the same direction then it cannot change after 2 bars if the 5min because ag2 is 10 mins and 3 bars for ag3 bc ag3 is 15mins when your looking at the 5min… make sense?

Also looking at the 5min if the ag2 signal is from 2 bars prior then the 5min signal cannot change after the 5min bar is closed

I am using TS filtered big 4. It keeps crashing my computer. On the phone it’s great.
I love the signal up and signal down arrows, is there a way to strip down some of the script so it does not freeze up and crash the site.

To improve TOS performance, try these options:

1. Adjust the memory allocated to TOS

mL8VipA.jpg

2. Collect TOS garbage to free up memory

3. Save your data, delete usergui directory and restart TOS

Hope it helps!

Are you using the link from https://usethinkscript.com/posts/124704/ thread? Mine tends to run pretty good even with TS with 3 aggregations... Yes I can... try http://tos.mx/t47gtP4 (updated version as of 5/4/23 to resolve some repainting issues ((still testing but its 95% there))

That makes perfect sense, thank you!
@HODL-Lay-HE-hoo!
@METAL
(make sure setting "Show3" is set to yes
http://tos.mx/t47gtP4 (updated to resolve some repaint issues BUT if the signal is using ag3 it is subject to repaint for how ever many bars ag3 tf represents on the chart your looking at) you will see a label "Closed Signals Only" if not go to settings its the first one

* will post the screenshots in the confirmation trend aka end all be all thread when I have get the screenshots edited and whatnot *

Forgot to note that the yellow arrow is ag3 so the 15min aka 3 5min bars

Thanks, I have used them both but they don't have the candles I have built my strategy around.

the candles I use is the 2 white ones on the Big4 script called signal up and signal down.

What triggers these 2 candles, I can try and recreate.

I have noticed that 7 and 13 ema cross over produces similar candles but not the same.

hmm interesting ill take a look

ok if you loaded the chart style there is a study called "BIG7" go to the settings an click "Show Plot" for signal up and signal down

http://tos.mx/2AgN4LF - This is an update (added the option in settings to use the TMO filter where it only effects the arrows because I was not a fan of how the candles paint with tmo filter

@quantum for those of us that have a higher end graphics card TOS support provided a someone a line of code to add to their graphics card file... you wouldnt happen to know where to find this would you? I added it before and re-installed tos and cannot find the reddit post with the line of code. Supposedly the Higher end graphics cards cause tos to lag. (as well as the other factors you mentioned.

@HODL-Lay-HE-hoo!

I believe it's this line "-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false"

File location is "C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\thinkorswim\thinkorswim.vmoptions"

Here is the updated TS_V9 watchlist column (without filter as it is not possible in the watchlist column) I added "Last buy/sell" to show the most recent signal and the dark green and dark red "TS " are bars where the signal currently exists...

Thank you for sharing the watchlist. When the link is imported, it doesn't look like a watchlist shared link. Could you check this out?

I've read the entire thread from the beginning over the past couple days. I also watched the 1.5 hour YT video. I've gone from overwhelmed, impressed, in awe, etc.! Kudos to so many, but of course to Christopher84. I don't know much at all about trading or coding, but the work here is something to behold.

I have loaded several strategies into my ToS but am unable to see the EMAD lower study. Any idea what I need to do differently?

No problem. This works wonders on the daily and the only setting that I will change is "trade daytime only" if it is off it will trade whatever you have on the chart - with it on it will only trade during the open and close time in settings.

These screenshots are the daily with max number of years and the wins% tells you all you need to know. seeing as SPY is up in the supply zone the safest bet (on any tf) is to wait for candles to exit the zone then pullback and if it rejects re-entering the zone thats the entry... if it re enters the zone you start the process over... or you just buy the signals also the green and red spark arrows work very well on the daily (they represent emas in the process of turning over. it would be a good idea to establish your own risk off targets but basically when candles are near a zone or a moving average = risk off... if the EMAD lower is near the top middle or bottom = risk off (use it the same way I explain in my previous screenshots)

well nevermind, found it!

"I have an RTX 2080 Ti and my charts in TOS were super choppy; not smooth at all. Which obviously doesn't really impact trading at all, but it's annoying to have a $4k computer and watching a light application like TOS run so poorly.

So I called support and spent an hour on the phone with one of their techs. I have nothing but high praise for the guy; he stuck with me after everything we tried didn't work until finally we figured it out.

Basically, RTX cards try to do too much graphics processing on the TOS charts, and that just slows them down. So we can disable all that extra work by adding the following line to your thinkorswim.vmoptions file:

-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

Obviously do that while TOS is closed. Now my charts run incredibly smoothly. It's a night and day difference. Again, major shoutout to the support tech. Just wanted to pass the info along!"

the answer to your questions link above

I tried your latest version from post #2433 and It kept giving me an error report from TOS. Said to restart or continue. If I hit continue, it just kept repeating the error message. I had to remove the study to get this to stop.

I am having same Issues.

Hi Everyone!
Just posted C3_Max_TS_Strategy at the bottom of pg.1 of this thread! I have combined the OB and OS zones, Consensus Level Label, C3_MF_Line (colored by the Consensus Level), with the versatile TS_v9 Strategy in a single code! The entry, stop, and average trade lines were included from TS_v9 as well as the analysis labels for the strategy (to help you adjust to the asset you are trading). Using this setup on different timeframes can give tremendous insight on important technical levels. Note that the default version is setup for the /es 1 hour chart. Be sure to take your positions close to the averages (or C3_MF_Line works well too).Here's a share link for this chart https://tos.mx/WPmemRX. Happy trading!
