@Sohelator I'm not having any issue with it. Used the scanner from the original thread, set to 2 bars, and scanned in the S&P 100 for upArrows.

I think its because the original reversal indicator has bubbles and not arrows and im scanning for arrows? I'll keep working on this and if im still stuck i'll post here I dont wanna clog up this thread. Thanks

@Sohelator Like I mentioned, if you want to scan for signals, you need to use the indicator version with arrows. The original script (with bubbles) will not work.

I have a thinkscript study that tags and notifies me with sound when a reversal occurs on a 1 hour candle chart. I've been testing it for quite some time now but the reversals usually happen only once every couple days.
1. is there a way I can set a pager alert in thinkscript like other notifications to BUY (TICKER) or SELL (TICKER)?
2. If not, I can just leave it running but I would like to use a more alarming sound instead of sound.bell or the other default sounds. I really want an alarm clock sound or something like that but I don't know if I can script that or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I could have caught an 80 point move this week if I would have had this set up.

Here are the parts that define the sound alert. I would like to use a custom sound vs. one of the defaults such as Sound.Bell
Air raid siren for buy
Submarine descend sound for sell. LOL Just humorous ideas. I don't know what sounds I actually want to use yet. Just need to know if I can use my own. Keep in mind, I trade in TOS on several different systems in different locations depending on the day of the week. Having to copy a sound to each system is not a big deal at all.
Code:
def Buy_Signal = buysignal[1] == 0 and buysignal == 1;
#Alert(condition = buysignal[1] == 0 and buysignal == 1, text = "Buy Signal", sound = Sound.Bell, "alert type" = Alert.BAR);
def Momentum_Down = buysignal[1] == 1 and buysignal == 0;
#Alert(condition = buysignal[1] == 1 and buysignal == 0, text = "Momentum_Down", sound = Sound.Bell, "alert type" = Alert.BAR);
def sell = mov_avg9 < mov_avg14 and mov_avg14 < mov_avg21 and high < mov_avg9;
def stopsell = mov_avg9 >= mov_avg14;
def sellnow = !sell[1] and sell;
def sellsignal = CompoundValue(1, if sellnow and !stopsell then 1 else if sellsignal[1] == 1 and stopsell then 0 else sellsignal[1], 0);
def Sell_Signal = sellsignal[1] == 0 and sellsignal;
#Alert(condition = sellsignal[1] == 0 and sellsignal == 1, text = "Sell Signal", sound = Sound.Bell, "alert type" = Alert.BAR);
def Momentum_Up = sellsignal[1] == 1 and sellsignal == 0;
#Alert(condition = sellsignal[1] == 1 and sellSignal == 0, text = "Momentum_Up", sound = Sound.Bell, "alert type" = Alert.BAR);
plot Colorbars = if buysignal == 1 then 1 else if sellsignal == 1 then 2 else if buysignal == 0 or sellsignal == 0 then 3 else 0;
Colorbars.Hide();
Colorbars.DefineColor("Buy_Signal_Bars", Color.GREEN);
Colorbars.DefineColor("Sell_Signal_Bars", Color.RED);

@mike151 Would have been much faster if you mentioned the name of the indicator or include the code in your request. Anyways, I have moved your question into the appropriate thread.

Comment #424 has the answer ;)

@greentonic Yes. This indicator will repaint (like crazy).
I think you should acknowledge in the title that this repaints along with all other indicators that repaint. Like almost all repaint strategies, this one is useless. I'm sure if you put it in the title it would keep hundreds from being baited by it and putting their time into trying to utilize it only to find that it is deceiving. Putting Re-painting Trend Reversal would keep people from wasting their valuable time and this post would have under 10k views rather then 60k.

@YungTraderFromMontana already mentioned it in the second paragraph since the start. We don’t have too many repainting indicators in here (probably 3 at the most). I think it’s important that people goes through the thread and read up on the info before they decide which indicator to use.

I think if you want to use that approach then you should be more specific about how it repaints and how much of a crutch it puts on using it. List informational things like the average amount of times it repaints on a market stock like SPY before you get a signal that sticks. Or implement a feature that shows false signals as a arrow in a different color. This saves your users the time of having to test it themselves most likely still ending up with many questions If anything testament that it is not clear enough that it repaints or repainting means it would be that about 1/4 of the 25 pages of posts on this indicator are asking if it repaints or asking what causes it to repaint.

It's up to you though. It doesn't really matter to me personally, but I remember when I first came to this site I spent a lot of time studying this indicator blind to the fact that it repainted. I know you list it in the first sentence in the description but as a amateur I didn't completely understand what it meant. This only slightly annoys me, I am much more grateful for this free site you have created and the value it has to me. I've learned so much about thinkscript as a member here. If the advanced mm indicator comes out with a good response from the community I'll surely pick up warehouse.

Hi @BenTen - Do you know the process of how to backtest this indicator on TOS? "

Is anyone getting almost all signals in Purple ? I can put it in many time frames and it shows purple and not the red or green. May get one in about 10. But its all purple bubbles no matter what. Any help on getting it to normal colors ? Thanks

I have found that once I tweaked the settings on the script it works absolutely great on the ONE HOUR charts. Making $ on this indicator now. I will be happy to share the entire code.
I STILL can't make it make a sound for some reason when the indicator hits. I have to be looking at a particular chart to buy in on the 1 hour. I really would like a sound notification so I could work all day and just respond when it makes a sound to the chart I am monitoring.
Recently took a 13 point short on TSLA using this script. Whoever wrote it I am forever grateful!! I would love to know who wrote it.

Code:
def price = close;
def superfast_length = 8;
def fast_length = 13;
def slow_length = 21;
def displace = 0;

def mov_avg9 = ExpAverage(price[-displace], superfast_length);

Exactly what I posted. Just pick 20 day 1 hour candles. and turn that script on. You can easily scroll back 20 days to back test it.
I recall tweaking these just slightly to get it where I wanted it. I was going to attach a screenshot last night but I found you couldn't simply add an attachment, you had to use a link.
