Looking over why Active trader is having some off lagging issues lately, i started looking into where the traffic is going.

Best I can tell, it's going to Los Angeles, and I am in DC,, wtf
Does that sound correct to anyone?

I spoke with support this morning, they say they saw me connected to a datacenter in Texas yet, the IP I am connected to shows up as based in Los Angeles.

tracert with some stuff removed for privacy, also, i do get it that my route has packet loss, sometimes these backbones drop ping traffic, can also be other things that cause this, point is, why is my trading traffic going 3000 miles away..... why dont they have pop's on each coast to get me on their private backhauls?

@kp555 Your issue is most likely within your instance of TOS, not the Schwab servers... I was having issues a few weeks ago, and even last week, and I found that the issue was a single Chart on my laptop that was causing the issue... I removed and rebuilt a couple of charts, reduced the total number of charts in my single instance of TOS, and removed unused studies from each chart and performance improved to normal... Your TOS memory settings could also be contributing to the problem and there are several good topics here in the forums that address vmoptions settings... YMMV...
