Confirmation Candles Indicator For ThinkorSwim

I also use this to find volume spikes. Volume proceeds price. This is my standard volume graph. I don’t use the one that comes with TOS.

Between this, MFI, OBVM, and c3 max zones, I’ve been having better results to buy puts and calls

Wow..Thank you so much for the link. I used the volume indicator today and it was a huge help. Trading was great today. I actually used the Confirmation Candles V.10 and found it to be amazing! THANKS AGAIN @Christopher84. So is C3Max the final version of all of the confirmation candle strats? If so is there a way to turn on the channels like in V10? EDIT...I just found the answer to the C3Max. Totally missed that paragraph. So for anyone else reading this, the C3Max is the combination of the previous Confirmation Candles.

@Christopher84 Have you made a video for the final C3Max? If so, please point me to it. Thanks Again.
Also, If you do not mind, I cannot get the MTF scan to scan on time in a 5min or 10min. Is this something you may be able to assist with. Here is one a scan that just fired and it is for the 5min I set to 2 bars. They are several bars late. I do not know what to adjust to fix.

Hi @Christopher84 , first off let me just say I love your indicator so far. I just started using your C3 study for the first time today and it helped me ride SPY far more than I would have normally, so thank you right off the bat! I do have one question though, I've had a few instances after changing certain settings (i.e. averagetype to HULL, removing S/R lines) where the candle coloring no longer works -- usually this goes away after reloading the chart or changing settings and changing it back.

Have you heard of this happening before? I really like the candle coloring, and I do have one other study active that paints bars based a specific condition being met -- do you think it's just as simple as these studies clashing?
Hi @Chemmy,
It definitely could be the 2 studies are clashing. It's hard to say for certain without seeing it.

Hi @Sbollapa!
Looks like the blue line on the top chart is Ehler's Distant Coeffecient Filter and the on the lower chart the blue line the is the PDL. That would probably explain why the lines look different. Hope that helps!
Hi @Christopher84 I see the same issue and confirmed that 15min charts are using TS_strategy and 3min charts are using PLD_Strategy as provided by you. but it is not a big issue.
I did paper trading this week so far and very happy with returns and I would say no loss. I know its still paper money , but this is given enough confidence to put real money.. but would still paper trade for rest of the week. Thank you for the studies and strategies. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with all of us.

Interesting discussion. Thanks for sharing. Silly question, I'm not familiar with MFI. What does MFI refer to? Wanted to learn more, but when searched simply for "MFI", nothing obvious came up in the results.

May have answered my own question.
Did see MFI referred to as a volume weighted RSI.
https://usethinkscript.com/threads/confirmation-candles-indicator-for-thinkorswim.6316/post-105041

Found a TV-converted volume weighted RSI in 'Questions'

Cheers.
So the "Super OB OS" lower indicator as well as "C3 max spark" have MFI RSI MACD EMAs etc. in the code so you may be using some redundant lowers

Thanks. I should have known Christopher84 had it covered. Interestingly, I had imported the Super OB OS study back in April timeframe, but frankly never looked at the code or the study more in-depth on a chart. When you say, "C3 max spark", assume you mean the built in spark label? Looking thru the C3 max V2 code, I did see the MFI as one of the built-in indicators that seems to roll up to generate consensus level.

Anyone using the Scalper V2? I tried it out today along with CC_V6, C3MaxV2, C3Max_Spark. Anyway, I used it on the 1min timeframe and the Scalp Long was basically signaling the entire time even when the movement was aggressively moving down. Curious if I need to change anything. Has anyone else encountered this. I compared it to the other strategies and they were saying short while the Scalper V2 label was indicating Long.
Also, I cannot seem to figure out how to use the Spark indicator. Can someone please explain how to utilize this feature. Thanks

Use Max Spark it works well on anytime frame. (in my exp) i posted the link for a grid that has the other studies i use with it. (triple exhaustion (just the arrows - and index equities weighted (lower) to avoid chop) and a volume % label. I would recommend watching the higher time frames as well as the one min even if you trade based on the 1min. For example, you will see on the 3 and 5 min charts (etc.) C3 line pointing down while the 1 min chart is pushing up - soon to reverse and vis versa.

Thanks for your share grid i added it right before after hours and i noticed all time frames are set to show extended hours accept for the 1min time frame. Is this by accident or how do you suggest setting those? thanks again for sharing your grid its solid

I saw your other post to Metal mentioning the 'grid' you shared. An interesting combo of indicators (including C3 max spark) and timeframes. Was hoping you could provide a bit more commentary about the setups you look for regarding entries and exits ... and how you use lower indicators shown on the 5min. By some of your indicators, it looks like you focus on options. Thanks in advance.

Im not 100% sure about the Spark label but i know it has something to do with the EMAs starting to turn over. Sometimes you will see the Green EMAs then the top dashed green line turns red but the cloud is still green - lets say thats spark 1 - and so on - thats what my (poor) understanding of the spark label is.

The Index Equities indicator on the 5min - if its hanging around the zero line its going to be choppy price action. Pull up a chart and look back at choppy days to see what the look like vs the others.

I dont really use the IV but I am trying to see how it can be of use as i know some use it to confirm reversals.

The grid - look for an arrow, C3 line changing color on the lower timeframe wait for the arrow or C3 line to change on a higher timeframe to confirm entry (usually wait 30min an hour after market open if there is not a strond trend yet. (i generally only trade high liquidity underlyings TSLA SPY AAPL etc.)

Awesome. hanks. I have found that once the red/green cloud changes color on the 5min, it is money. Trading options, I fomo out using a 1min and lose some trades but I have found that I must set a greater risk so that I don't get stopped out and let the 5 min tell the tell. Just today, I broke my own rule and lost on a 1min as it was looking bad however, when I went back and checked on what happened on the 5min. I would have had a great trade. So I got in another using the 5min crossover with apple at 12:45. and had a good trade.
Do you get in on the arrows or do you wait for the crossover?

Hi rfb!
Glad you like the new Scalper! I went ahead and altered the code on pg.1 to include the Spark label for you. I hope you have a great weekend! Happy trading!
Was just reading this part of the thread and came across the C3 Max Scalper. Christopher mentioned that he updated it on pg. 1. I have went up and down that page several times and cannot locate this strat. Can someone point me to it or drop a share link. I found three scalpers. Scaler v1, scalper v2, and scalper v3. but no c3 max scalper. thanks in advance.

Generally, on the one min chart if I notice an up arrow (from 3x study((Yellow)) I will look at the 3min for an arrow to appear then the 5 min (entering the trade based on the 5min chart really so I suppose the lower tf I look at could be useless but can get you better entries at times) when i look at the 10min 15min 30min 1hr I am looking at the C3 Line color as they higher time frames will not have an arrow in some cases but depending on the trend that day I may not really care if the 15/30/1/2 are in agreement as I day trade options mostly. I have read plenty of people using C3 Max spark and the like use the 3 and 15 min chart only.

Okay. Thanks. I was testing just the crossover on the 5 min and that looks very promising. may miss out on earlier entries but may be a bit safer entry.. What do you see that is different from the C3 Max Spark and the C3 Max? other than the spark label. Is that all that changed?

Hi rfb! The candles will still paint correctly for SPX, however, the signals and lower study will not show unfortunately. Thank you for trying it out and for your feedback!
Hi Christopher, this is in regards to your Scalper Upper V2 createded 3/1/2022.. I find it fascinating. Unfortunately the code is somewhat ambiguous for me. It is very similar to other Multi time frame (see the Strat by Rob Smith and followers). I have the settins for the 6 aggpredis set to the minimum time frames of 1,2,3,4,10,15 min in correspondence t o the imputer agperiod sets...alos I se the time lengths to 5 and 15 respectively.
I assume that the code reads accurately so that a run in a fast moving /ES seems to work quite nicely up to the 15 minute spurts, especially at reservals and openings in the morning. I added it to my set up liists.. I appreciate your creative energy and contributions. Quck Quesiton. Have U experimented with the Deviatoin Scaled VWAP with Fractal Energy.. It accomplishes much of the same responsive signals and it very relliable. You might find it very interesting, also Ehler's work on digital signaling to alter the cycles..look a the Ehlers Distant coeicient Filter... Excellent confirmation fo reversals on the very short term// Very very little lag time.. Best to U. from magicquotes.com
