TOS support closed.. can anyone here help. Want to know if OnDemand will fill orders on a weekend?

I assume that since you set the days you are using. the system should be able to fully function on non hours..
But when i go to OnDemand.. and use a mid week date it will not fill any of my orders. is that normal.
i have used ondemand many times but do not remember if it was on a weekend..
so can anyone help.. should ondemand fill an order on an off day or off hour as long as the time and date selected
is a normal market hours day and time.. Thanks in advance.

Yes, thinkorswim OnDemand is fully designed to fill orders on weekends and outside of live market hours.

If you set your OnDemand clock to a mid-week date and time during normal market hours (e.g., a Wednesday at 10:00 AM ET), your orders should fill, regardless of what day or time it actually is in the real world.

If your mid-week orders are not filling while using OnDemand on a weekend, it is NOT normal function, but it is a very common technical issue. Here is exactly why it happens and how to fix it:

Why Your Orders Aren't Filling

Why Your Orders Aren't Filling
  1. Weekend Server Maintenance (Most Common)
EVERYTHING CAN BE SQUIRRELY ON WEEKENDS.
Because OnDemand streams historical quote and fill data directly from their servers, server maintenance will interrupt function.
  2. The Simulation Clock is Paused or Desynced
If the simulated clock isn't actively stepping forward, order triggers won't fire.
  3. Price / Volume Matching Requirements
OnDemand requires actual historical tick volume to pass through your limit price to execute a fill. If historical volume at that precise second was zero, or if you placed a limit order outside the historical Bid/Ask spread, it won't execute.
  4. OnDemand Data Cache Corruption
The local data cache for OnDemand frequently gets stuck or fails to load tick data properly.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Try these steps in order to get your fills working:
  1. Check the Simulated Time & Play State
    • Ensure the OnDemand clock (top right corner) is set between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM ET for standard equities/options.
    • Make sure the play button next to the OnDemand clock is active/playing, not paused.
    • Skip forward by 1 or 2 minutes using the step button to force the engine to register the order against incoming price data.
  2. Test with a Market Order
    • Place a standard Market Order on a highly liquid stock (like AAPL or SPY).
    • If a market order fills but your limit order doesn't, the issue is limit price placement relative to the historical spread. If the market order also fails to fill, it is a server/cache issue.
  3. Reset the OnDemand Account
    • In the top-right OnDemand panel, click on your OnDemand account balance.
    • Select Reset Account to clear pending order states and refresh your virtual balance.
  4. Clear Local Cache (Force Reset)
    • Log out of thinkorswim.
    • On the login screen, click the gear icon (settings) in the bottom-left corner.
    • Click Clear cache and restart.
Summary
If you follow these steps and orders still sit pending, Schwab's OnDemand servers are undergoing weekend maintenance. When this happens, data streaming degrades or shuts down until maintenance completes (usually by Sunday evening before the futures open).

Remember! OnDemand is a simulation. This is not real data. Cannot be used to test strategies.

Solution
It's worth noting that OnDemand does not do a replay of "total recall" actual trade data, it only uses approximations of intra-candle trade action with OHLC being the only true values... Therefore, we also can't go back an relive our previous trades as they unfolded on a tick by tick basis but we will end up with the same results...
