Saving And Accessing Workspace In ThinkOrSwim

I attempted to use Setup (top right) → Share workspace. However, I received the following message:

"A link for this item will be generated after sharing. Items recently shared on thinkorswim at TD Ameritrade will be available the following day on thinkorswim at Schwab. Previously shared items, however, should be immediately available."

Does this mean my workspace will be accessible to all thinkorswim (Schwab) users? If so, how can I prevent this?

If your workspace contains default ToS studies, they will be shared in your workspace to anyone that has your link.

If your workspace contains custom studies that you have saved with unique names; then anyone that has your link with import a blank setup.

This is because the pointers to the studies in shared workspaces only exist on your account.
Shared workspaces are private backups meant for the use of the individual account.

It can not be used to share studies with others.

The easiest way to save a setup:
1. click on the box at the top right-side of your chart
2. click on Save Grid As
3. name it whatever you want

To retrieve the setup: click on the box and click on the name that you saved it under.

How are ToS chart setup links shared in this forum? Are they saved on a public cloud? For example, when VIP indicators are shared as ToS links, are they stored on a public service? Isn’t that an issue? Or are they not publicly visible and can only be imported if the direct link is available? I would like to generate such link for my workspace and store that link in my private cloud in case I want to import anytime.

Sadly no, Schwab does not provide private clouds.
No, the links are not "publicly visible".
Yes, they can only be imported, if you have the link.
