Running out of custom watchlist columns for ThinkOrSwim?

I'm running out of my custom watchlist column again. Long ago I posted the question and get favorable response from a distinguished member.
He send me a downloadable script link to add more custom watchlist columns. I tried to search my previous postings but can't find it with great efforts.
Could anyone help me with that.

you don't need any special watchlist column study link to add more.
you can make a share link from an existing study and use it to add more.


in a fresh TOS install, there are 19 placeholders for custom column studies.
i think they are named custom1 - custom19.
you can import column study links to add more than 19 column studies. i think the max is 100. i have 64 now.


before you get started adding column studies, you need to know that only the first (original ) 19 can be loaded into the option chain columns.
if you aren't looking at the option chain, then it doesn't matter.
but if you will be, you want to leave the original 19 column study placeholders for use in an option chain column, and add more column studies, for use in watchlists and marketwatch.

these steps will make a share link to a temporary study, that can be imported many times, and over written with the desired code.

open a text file (to save study file names and links)
click on the tiny gear icon on right edge of watchlist header

choose customize
click on a study in the left pane and add it to the right pane
click on the icon of the study

the custom quote formula window opens up
click the share button in the top right

type a name

go to the text file and type the study name you typed in the window
go back to TOS. click share button
a small window pops up, saying a link was created
go to the text file and paste the new link under the file name. save text file
close tos windows and get back to the chart

to add a new column study, import the TOS link you just made
SETUP > open share link.
the clipboard should still have the link, so paste it into the window
click on preview
in the import item field, rename it to something different , zzz01
i put a z in front of my column studies, so they will be grouped together at the end of the list.

find zzz01 in the list of watchlist studies and click the icon to edit the code.
delete the original study code and paste in the new code.
it needs to be a functioning study, to have 1 plot or 1 addlabel.

come back to the text file and copy the link when you need more column studies

repeat the following steps for as many column study placeholders as you need. i usually add 5 or so at a time.

summary, make more column studies

import zztemplate , top right , setup > open shared item
paste in the share link
click on preview
change the name , zz01

repeat those last 4 steps and call it zz02
repeat those last 4 steps and call it zz03
....
repeat as needed

I am out of "customYX" watchlist templates slots. Is there a way to add additional ones beyond "custom21"?

this is still a copy of another study.

this will be a template for future column studies. you may want to paste in commonly used thinkscript codes.
delete most of the the original study code and keep what you use often.

make a share link, click share in top right corner.
type a new name zztemplate

open a text file
paste in the link ,
and type out the study name zztemplate
save the text file

come back to this text file and copy the link when you need more column studies

change a template study to be a usable study

go to the list of column studies.
find the last one added , zz04 , and click on the icon.
delete all the code and paste in new code. or edit it to do what you want.
change the name in the top field
set timeframe and after hours as needed
OK - exit editor window
OK - close window of list of column studies
