It's gonna get heated up with the Hot Zone indicator! Hope you like it. It is a combination of RSI with IV percentile. The red colored area where IV is greater than RSI is the Hot Zone. Inside the Hot Zone are some colored circles on the midline. A yellow circle is a caution warning. This means it could be a good buy, but be cautious because it is a weak signal. The red circle is the HOT warning. This means it's time to buy or sell put options.

NOTE: there may be a string of red circles, so the first one that appears may not be the best entry because more could follow. You'll want to see the RSI and IV come back together for extra confirmation. Another confirmation is the ZSCORE upper indicator on this forum. Below are a few examples.

This indicator works great with the BTD indicator. Enjoy heating up your account with the Hot Zone!

This is an example of CWH on a daily chart.

This is an example of SPY on 12/24/2019. It showed the EXACT low! Then it ripped higher for the next 4 months.

There is another version of this indicator that @FateOwnzYou helped make. SHOUT OUT to you fellow scripter! You're awesome! This version is cleaner to the eye and basically subtracts the RSI from IV and makes one single line so the greater the distance between them the further down the Hot Zone goes. I added the yellow and red circles, but you may want to adjust these settings for your trading style. The only negative is you don't actually see the actual RSI indicator, and some people who already use RSI would probably prefer using the other version to keep the RSI. The clear advantage is it gives clear buy and sell areas. Under the green line is a buy area. Over the red line is a sell area shaded in green (collect your cash money!) . (Any area in red could be considered a buy area, but the closer to the green line, the better.)

Lets look at a DAY TRADE in /RTY. Look at both of these Hot Zone indicators. Notice the one on the bottom. Circled areas for buys and sells.

There are some traders who don't like to use lower indicators. Good news for YOU!!! I created an UPPER indicator that uses BOTH of these into one!!! You can turn on/off the arrows. You can turn on/off the hot and caution dots for the Hotzone and Hotzone line indicators. NOTE: IF you display dots for BOTH indicators, the Hotzone Line dots will plot over the Hotzone indicator dots. If you want to have the opposite, I believe you would just have to move their order within the code.

Below is an example of using the arrows from the HotZone Line indicator with the dots from the HotZone indicator on /ES 15 min chart.

Adjust the timeframe on it. It will look like the below. It will have a yellow CAUTION for the yellow dot and a red HOT for red dot. The reason there are two columns is because they are set to different timeframes.

Thank you for the great work you have done to us.

Have you noticed any failed areas or arrows? What is the rate?
There is no silver bullet, but it looks like a good edge to take the arrows. Do some testing with it.
 
One of the only pitfalls I've found with figuring out options plays with IV rank is if you have a black swan level event like back in March, it throws off the percentile for a lonnnnnng time. I'm curious if we can figure out a way to set a date to start calculations of IV rank vs having to go back an entire year and including crazy, rare events (Be able to anchor the time frame, if that makes sense)

edit: Well DERP, just change the 252 to however far back you need to go. At first glance, it's appearing to work just fine.

Side note for people using the scanners: you may want to consider adding "within 3 bars" or something similar into your scan if you're not finding exactly what you want. It will at least put you in the right areas to look even if it's not exact.

Can someone post their scan results; An time frame ok, I am not getting any hits., I save the scan query and ran the above both scans.

Like I said above though, you can always go to the thinkscript editor and add something to the effect of "within 3 bars" to the end of the pre-written code to widen up your results

EDIT: Another possibility is that you don't have the study saved with the EXACT SAME NAME as the study referenced in the scan. If they don't match, the scanner doesn't have the code to work with

I thought we will get the red dots and buy an arrow if we are in the hot zone. Am I missing anything here? Can someone provide some tickers where we have the red dots and up arrow working?

If you have both indicators "HZ" and "HZLine" as yes, then the HZ Line dots override the HZ dots. You can uncheck HZLINE and it will show the red dots like in my picture. The arrows appear on the upper chart when the HZ line breaks oversold/overbought line. In this example, it did not do that. The arrows in your picture are RSI crosses above 30. I would expect this stock to break higher in the future. Notice the 180 Bollinger Band where price is at the 2 Standard Deviation. There is also divergence between price and Hotzone line, so I would expect price to head higher. FYI, my green arrow on upper chart are when price closes below the BTD channel. Watch for price to break above market pulse line.

Load up the Buy scan that he previously shared. It will bring up 3 lines of criteria. On the third line (Study, Custom) click the pencil on the right hand side next to the D. Click the "Edit" button on the right hand side of the popup menu. Halfway down the new popup menu you will see "Plot:" followed by "Up Signal". Click the drop down and select "HOT". Click Save on the right hand side then OK and then you're good to go to scan. Don't be surprised if you don't get any hits right now
 
@QDoan Options are the derivatives of the underlying securities, such as stocks. Don't you have to make your decision based on a the stock chart first? And then decide if you want to trade shares or options.
That would be the normal method of trading but there are traders who only watch and only trade options without watching the underlying to indicate entry and exit... It's just a different method of trading... I've done it over the years myself... Close to or in the money options with the same indicators you use for equities... I've made a lot of money over the years this way... The biggest thing to consider is at least watching the underlying equity price so you don't get too far out of the money... It's a method of trading options as though they are penny stocks, with the exception that they expire... I won't give all of the details here but might do a writeup on the process in the future... Not for beginners by any means, but it can be done...
