Repaints AGAIG Visual Options Trading Chart for ThinkOrSwim

Repaints
Love the code. You're really teaching me a lot about the technical. I enjoy trading the same 10ish stocks. How would I set an alert based on the patterns? Is there a way to set an alert after the green marks and OS level?

This is a prolific repainter.
Sadly no. Repainters cannot be used in scan, watchlists or conditional orders because they repaint.

@csricksdds recommends using the zigzag as a confirming indicator when used with these non-repainters:

@csricksdds
I am finally getting to understand charts and indicators.

Thank you so much for the valuable information and chart setups.

what time frames of MTF should be red before you enter a trade.
You have mentioned long MTF . Could you pls be specific. Long means ?

Also Would you draw Support or resistance line on the chart manually ? or use the lines on the chart ?

if this was to be turned into a strategy in thinkscript, what would be the buy\sell signals and the buy/sell exits? Using GROK or Chat GPT,, What indicaor would be the best indicator to use to determine entries and exists.

Sadly no, it is not possible to turn the AGAIG chart setups into a simple backtesting strategy.

No single indicator by itself is best.
  • Look for multiple (2+) indicators suggesting a change in direction before placing trades.
  • Looking back at the history of a stock shows you that it (as well as all stocks) move up and down within an average range (ATR = average trading range for each stock) during the day and usually make smaller moves within that range (or sometimes moves outside that range).
  • A good oscillator will show a stocks footsteps along the path of life but doesn't provide future direction.
  • ATM (At the Money or current price of stock) mathematically has a 50% chance of going up in price, as well as a 50% chance of going down in price and the market is set-up mathematically with that dynamic in mind.
  • You will find many indicators and strategies within this site and should pick a chart set-up that works for you (of course I have a bias towards my own set-ups as they work for me).

This is the link for this new dual chart: http://tos.mx/!Kj9bc5iQ
This is what it looks like:

I find this an easy chart to trade.

My Put trades are placed when I get a lower Red Bar, a Red Traffic Light and MTF shows longer time frames Red as well.

I also view my chart arrows for direction. A Call would just be the opposite (Green Bar, Green Traffic Light, Green MTFs and Green Arrows on Chart).

I find my best two trades of the day are usually between 10:00 - Noon when two or more indicators align. Also note if trading is above/below VWAP and/or 20 EMA White Line.
Watch for crossovers of the 20 EMA.
@csricksdds Love the chart set-up (men are visual beings)! From your experience as an options trader, could you please describe your technique regarding the actual "execution of the trade". What is the fastest, most efficient, and safest for options, stocks when you are jumping in/out of trades so quick? Do you use Hot Keys? Trade from the ToS DOM or use a different brokerage/platform for execution. Thank you for your input

I just trade ATM for trades using the Red/Green Bars since it represents two indicators in agreement and leave them in place until the next Red/Green turn. I mostly trade the same two-three stocks over and over since all stocks do the same thing: Up, Down, Sideways. I pick two-three stocks with good volatility (5+) and trade expiration Friday or the following Friday as at my advanced age I try to keep things simple!

Thank you, I understand. That helps some. More specifically though, to the actual execution of the trade (placing the buy/sell option order itself). If you can, please speak to or provide a link that shows how you actually place the buy/sell order of the option (and stop limit if used). I assume that you are using ToS platform to place your orders. I'm retiring soon, and trying to get up to speed on using options and trading on the shorter timeframes, therefore what I'm very interested in, is learning how experienced option traders quickly execute their option trades. Hope this makes sense. Again, thank you for taking the time.

I guess I place trades the old fashioned way. I place trades from the option chain, use ATM for trades with expiration a few days out (if 0 DTE I trade ITM). TOS give a trading line that show Mid and Natural Price and I try to place trade at MID plus or minus a small amount. For instance if I'm trading a volatile stock like MSTR I will try at MID price plus a nickel as these trades move fast. If I don't get in I may try again a little higher or just wait for the next opportunity. There will be several opportunities during the day as most options (especially volatile ones) move up/down giving multiple opportunities. I'm only looking for 2-3 good opportunities each day and trade between 5-10 contracts each trade. Relax because quickly executed trades can lead to quickly executed losses. I do most of my trades by 11:00 a.m. but may come back in the afternoon around 2:00 p.m. for a trade or two.
