Watchlist highlight blocking colors

After extensive research I am almost positive the answer to this question is "No, that is how the interface works" but figured it is worth asking:

Is there a way to NOT highlight the row on the Watchlist of the selected stock?

The reason I ask is that I have custom columns that change the background color to RED or GREEN based on parameters, but once I select a stock the GUI highlights the entire row BLUE with WHITE text.

Bye bye custom colors. 😫

Appreciate your wisdom if you know a solution!

after picking a symbol in a watchlist, scroll to the end of the list and click on the blank row after the last symbol.
your previously selected symbol will stay selected, but not be highlighted blue.

The watchlist doesn't have a selectable blank row at the bottom (See brown pen mark on image), but in trying the suggestion I came across a potential solution.

After selecting a stock, I can switch to a different watchlist and then back using the up and down arrows (Yellow circle on picture) and it is no longer highlighted. Two clicks and a flash of the screen but it does work, lol.

Appreciate the help halcyonguy!

did you try clicking on the space after the last symbol?
have you ever added a symbol to the end of a watchlist?

Getting closer! Some of the watchlist have the selectable row at the bottom, but many do not, and that includes my custom scanners.

I'm out of time today to keep investigating, have to catch a plane, but certainly worth looking into further.

Simple watchlists like "Personal > default" or "Personal > Quotes", have the selectable bottom row, but large/complex lists like "FUTURES" or "Top 10% Gain NASDAQ" or "Industry > Marine" don't have the row to add symbols.

Just have to figure out how to get my custom watchlists to retain the "Add a symbol" row.

I see your image is a custom watchlist with the selectable row. How did that happen?!?!

My scanner is basic and brings back a lot of results, so it is limited to the top 20 results sorted by volume, but I have another scanner that only brings back a few results and the selectable bottom row disappears on that one when loaded to the gadget too.

First off, sorry for reviving the zombie thread, but because someone else my stumble across this, I wanted to point out that the reason you don't have an empty row at the bottom of your watchlists that are created by scans is because these are dynamic watchlists and they are not editable. Symbols are added and removed from these types of watchlist based on the criteria in the scan. Dynamic watchlist are denoted by the pink circle when selecting a watchlist like the following image.
