The Buy The Dip and The Volatility Studies are not Technical Indicators. They provide a "heads up" that something might be happening with this stock. Scripts like these and other stock finding strategies: trend reversals, opening breakout, etc... are usually used in strategies that look for potential trades. Once you find a stock that might have potential, then technical analysts pull out their charts.

Research and understand position sizing, probabilities, and risk-to-reward - these are highly important to successful trading.
Studies that look for potential are only that, just potential. Understanding the market structure is critical. Look for areas of price consolidation to capture the moves of price expansion.
