When you share a shared file -can it be sabotaged

My question is this- if I have a shared file that I’m using, and then I share it myself with someone , and both of us did not write the code or create the file, can they mess the file up by editing it either trying to make it better or sabotaging it?
And in turn mess up the file on my account ?

If I was using a option screener, they mess it up on their computer, save it, would my file be ok?

I'm no expert but the way I see it. Your shared file and their shared file even though they are copies of each other and have the same name. They are two separate copies of a file stored on your and their individual computers. It is not like a Google cloud share file where you both are accessing the same single 'community file'.

When you accept the file you are storing a copy of it on your system. You are running your copy, what they do with their copy does not affect you. Once downloaded each of you can alter the file or it's name as you please. Otherwise it would be too easy for someone to do nasty bits of code that would put many Thinkorswim users at risk.

Hope this helps. Maybe someone with more concrete info can confirm/deny this.

They can not edit your version, or the actual shared version. They can only edit their own copy. If they share their own edited version, it creates a new and totally separate share link, and it does not effect your material in any way. Shared material is not connected in the way which worries you.
