Vertical Lines and times

Hello

I am trying to plot vertical lines for certain events. I will use NY Market open time as an example. I am using this code:

input targetTime930 = 930;
def targetBar930 = SecondsFromTime(targetTime930) == 0;
AddVerticalLine(targetBar930, "Market Open", Color.YELLOW, curve.FIRM);

My chart is on a 15Min time, so when I add this to the script, it will plot the vertical line at 9:15, 15 minutes before 9:30. If i use a 5 minute chart, it will plot the time 5 minutes earlier than 9:30.

Can you help me with this? I am new to scripting. I want to be able to be correct on multiple timeframes.

Appreciated.

Does this means that the vertical line will never be at the exact desired time? if I use a 1min chart, then the line is 1 minute behind the intended time, if I use a 15min chart then the line is 15 behind the intended time. Is that the correct assumption?

Thank you.

There should be no lag.

However, this may help do what you want to have the line drawn over the bar at a specific time. It uses the unsupported addchart() function versus the addverticalline() function.

Code:
input time1 = 1000;

def x1w = SecondsFromTime(time1)[1] < 0 and SecondsFromTime(time1) >= 0 ;
def h1w = if x1w == 1 then high + 1000 else Double.NaN;
def l1w = if x1w == 1 then low - 1000 else Double.NaN;
AddChart(h1w, l1w, 0, 0...

the lines are correct.
vertical lines are drawn before the desired bar, in the space between 2 bars

@wazd As @halcyonguy stated, vertical lines are ALWAYS painted between bars, not on bars... A bar has a time duration and the line is drawn at the beginning of that time period... So a 1m chart line at 10:00am would be drawn at 10:00 and the 1m bar would last until 10:01 where the bar would terminate...
