The high or low of each day occurred first and keep a tally on a lower chart

I'd like to determine if the high or low of each day occurred first and keep a tally on a lower chart.
Can anyone assist me in converting this script? I'm not sure how to make it function for more than just the current day.

Solution
I put this on a 20 day, 1 hour chart and it seems about right. I was looking at /CL.

let me know if this gets at what you were thinking.
Code:
declare lower;

def time = secondsTillTime(2359);

def day_reset = if time > time[1] then 1 else 0;

def bn = barNumber();

def high_of_day = if day_reset == 1 then close else if close > high_of_day[1] then close else high_of_day[1];

def high_of_day_bar_number = if day_reset == 1 then bn else if close > high_of_day[1] then bn else high_of_day_bar_number[1];

def low_of_day = if day_reset == 1 then close else if close < low_of_day[1] then close else low_of_day[1];

def low_of_day_bar_number = if day_reset == 1 then bn else if close < low_of_day[1] then bn else low_of_day_bar_number[1];

plot zero = 0;
plot data = is_day_up_or_down;
