TechSmith has a good screen capture. It is called Snag-It

@METAL : I am an admirer of the annotated charts you share in your thread, "Trust the Levels"...Thank you for sharing...I was wondering if you could tell me what screenshot program you use...I have a big project coming up and I'm going to need a good screenshot program for all of the annotations I am going to have to do...

Windows Power Toys Enabled​

Short Cut Key == shift+windows key+S​

This allows you to capture whatever portion of your screens, you desire.​

Then a pop-up window will let you save it.​

@rad14733, the resident expert on all things windows and options-related; provided this short-cut.
I have eight monitors, this method has been a life-saver.

Annotation of screen captures

file explorer has basic mark-up tools; when I need something more robust, I use ppink.​

For the detailed annotations found on my VIP threads, I use Inkscape.​

Thanks MerryDay.. i use that exact free windows snipper.. and now i realize what is wrong..
Nothing.... it seems most of my snips are the full graphic screen of TOS and no matter what you use the snip is around 1 megabyte and more... so when i do a simple snip of a text on the screen its less than 100k or even a simple uncomplicated form....
So I am ok... but while looking i did find that windows has a ton of snippers.. and many like this one has ocr coversion and even much more.. they have near 100 free snippers.. its wild.. take hours to check them all out.

I guess what i need is a converter for the full screen shots that strips down the quality and makes the 300k and above maybe 80k..

The Windows Power Toys Resizer in right in your File Explorer.
1. open File Explorer
2. click three dots
3. click resize image
4. choose jpeg
5. slide the quality slider to the resize that you want.
