Most trading instruments are cyclical by nature.
Oscillators display an instrument's cyclical pattern, detailing if it is oversold, overbought, increasing momentum, consolidating, etc.. This information is used to determine if the instrument is in an entry or exit zone, and whether its path is waxing or waning.

Therefore, oscillators are accepted as, the best performing non-repainting indicators when utilized correctly; and as part of a comprehensive strategy.

Oscillators are collinear. They all provide the same-type of data. However, research has found some oscillators have a SLIGHT edge over others:

As a rule I test every indicator posted (mostly upper) against my trading chart (my candles are trend oscillator linked as well as some upper labels). Most of my repainting arrow pivots follow (or sometimes a heads up just prior) to what a lot of non-repainters show. The 8/20 clouds sometimes keep me in trades longer. I will check out the link you sent. Thanks.
