How to use BarNumber();

I am trying to count the numbers of bars between a buy signal and a sell signal, is there a way to do so?? Then after that, is there a way to calculate the average trade duration based on the buy/sell data??

I am trying to figure out how to use a stock chart for buy/sell signals and figure out the average amount of time it takes for a full trade to develop so I can buy the correct option strike! I think this would be super useful for options traders because then you can buy the adequate amount of time and not have to roll the option strike every week.

this is built for trading long, not shorts.

it records and keeps the barnumber of buy and sell signals, and keeps them in the variable until the next trigger.

When a sell occurs, it subtracts the buy barnumber from the sell barnumber, to get a quantity of bars for the trade duration.

buy and sell variables are whatever your true/false formulas are.
