Custom Alerts

Since the late-July TOS upgrade our Alerts using a Custom are not working.

Prior to the late-July TOS upgrade it worked flawlessly and continually until we either cancelled or changed.

We've not changed any coding/logic--the ONLY difference is this issue presented after the upgrade. Are there similar issues with others? What can we do to remedy this? Schwab was of no help...

As a follow-up, I recreated the Buy and Sell Alerts based on my MA_High_Low_Band Study and they once again performed as one-and-done... Then my gray matter started remembering what I had discussed with Tech Support... It seems that the crux of the matter, in my instance, was that I was never required to pay attention to the Alert for reverse crossover option... At some point something with that option changed and now you must select either Create silent alert or Create regular alert and if you select No alert then the Alert becomes a one-and-done... That bug still remains after some additional testing... Only by attempting to Replace alert did I recall this ongoing issue because the settings panel...
@BuzzKill I had a similar issue some months ago where Alerts no longer worked as they previously had and I never really got a straight answer either - even after they check with the programmers... Alert notifications were random, at best, and rarely ever fired on a timely basis... As I recall, they even started being one-and-done alerts rather than firing each time the criteria was met... I stopped using them altogether as I never got a decent answer...

TY; and, for clarity: Was your issue related to a custom or installed study? TY, again, @rad14733

As I recall it was when using Marketwatch > Alerts based on a simple User-Defined Study that was supposed to send SMS and Email Alerts... It was something I had used back when I still had a TDA account and the functionality changed after the migration to Schwab... What was happening was that once an Alert was set it became a one-and-done and never repeated, and then would be deleted after hours rather than remaining active and triggering... I had been in touch with two different techs who did testing and called back but they never gave a clear answer and it just wasn't that important to me so after a week or two of back and forth with them I just dropped the issue...

Here is a Marketwatch > Alerts based on a simple User-Defined Study
This custom study alert was created to provide a heads-up to changes in market direction

@BuzzKill do all your columns appear as above? It is possible that one of your defaults was accidentally changed.

This alert was set up over a year ago as continues to run thru today:

@useThinkScript Yes, that was how mine worked, for almost a year one time, but they stopped working on my system and Tech Support couldn't figure out what the problem was, even when using my Study code... Like I said, it wasn't important enough to me to keep pressing the issue... Perhaps I'll revisit the issue as I am still using the same Study and report back...

It is true; especially when the bigger builds are pushed out, that there are sometimes unintended consequences.
Generally, Schwab has been responsive in making corrections in subsequent builds.

Currently, there are no known issues that have been reported here on the forum with alerts.

If anyone is having specific issues and can provide the documentation and the studies that are involved;
expert @rad14733 or one of the other contributors will be able to investigate further.

For repetitive alerts you must select Alert for reverse crossover AND Silent opposite alert when creating a new alert...

Whether this information will help @BuzzKill or not remains to be determined...
