Creating Conditional Orders

if i create an OCO template from a study do i have to go in and set the conditions manually?example is if a study has a trailing stop in it ,is it automatically recognized in the OCO?

It sounds like you are confusing Studies and Strategies with actual trades... Real trades cannot be controlled in any way by Studies or Strategies... That doesn't mean to say that you couldn't include Study code within a Conditional Order, however... Conditional Orders are the nearest we can come to semi-automated trading aside from Bracket Orders... In addition, only Studies can be used in Conditional orders so a trailing stop related Strategy cannot be used... AddOrder() is for backtesting Strategies only... I hope this helps... ok that sounds logical.im trying to put together something where i can take a study ,make a scanner and make an OCO template/bracket.since i dont have coding skills actually writing in conditions is going to be tough

I had a conditional order for my wife, daughter and myself today that did not work for me and my wife, but did for my daughter.
My daughter had one not order a few weeks ago, but ours did.
Today after it should have triggered I looked at it with edit and it showed it triggered, for some reason thinkorswim did not execute it.
Any ideas of what might cause this.

I talked to tos and they looked at it and said it should have executed. Said they don't guarantee execution of conditional orders. It is a complicated order but works most of the time.

Any trade could possibly not execute, it doesn't have to be conditional. Here are the majority reasons orders are not filled:

When you get into conditional orders, there is another level of complexity of why it might not execute. If you provide the script of the conditional order and the equity/option/future being traded, members here can provide input as to what specific issues might be involved.
