Coloring Volume Bars / Coloring Price Bars

Hi,

I am looking to change the color of the volume bar.

Plot a = If volume > volume [1] then color.green else color blue;

But it says "expected double"

Is there a way to write a condition in an indicator? What would be the best solution?

Thank you for your help!

First you plot and then you format:
Ruby:
plot a = volume ;
     a.assignvaluecolor(if  volume > volume[1] then color.green else color.blue) ;

Wonderful thank you!

How could I make it link with the color of the candle?

plot a = volume ;
a.assignvaluecolor(if volume > volume[1] and open > close then color.red else color.dark_red) ;

if volume > volume[1] and open < close then color.green else color dark_green

I tried but I think I am making mistake to have the 2 different candles bar

plot data = close ;
data.hide();

assignpricecolor(
if volume > volume[1] and close > open then color.green else
if volume > volume[1] and close <= open then color.dark_green else
if volume < volume[1] and close < open then color.red else
if volume < volume[1] and close >= open then color.dark_red else color.gray);
