Best Way to Save Lines of Code?

What is the best way to save all of my very important custom scripts? Talked to support and they recommended saving everything I wanted to keep on a offline drive or something. Figured there was an app where you could save long lines of code but haven't found any. If it comes down to it I guess I could save everything on a google doc but that would be a giant pain in the ***. Send Ideas pls

What a great option. Didn't know this existed.

EDITING OR ALTERING ANY FILE INTHE THINK OR SWIM FOLDER OUTSIDE OF THINK OR SWIM MAY BREAK YOUR INSTALLATION

Also, if you're like me and happy working with the guts of files, there is a file in my ThinkOrSwim folder:
cache._dyqtaddn5uvmrm.tda.thinkorswim.com.xml
which contains all of the user studies in one place. Mine is a shade over 10 MB. It is an xml file, and if you open it up it looks nothing like your studies. However, if you copy the "CODE" block out of any of the xml, (if this doesn't make sense, you may not want to proceed) and paste it into someplace like this:
https://www.base64decode.org/
it will 'decode' your script. You could, of course, automate it with some python... perhaps I'll do that some day and post it here.

Just another way to get to our studies.

thanks for that link. the default setting of UTF-8 , for decoding worked... when i trimmed the extra characters from the end of a code line

Actually, the best way is just to select "User Defined" studies from the edit studies window. Then, select the ones you want to export... right click, and it will prompt you for the location to save them in.

I do this about once a month just to have a backup, and I also backup my workspace file.

Could you point me please where I can learn about how to backup my workspace file?

Scan scripts can be exported the same way as studies.

Grids must be shared, and workspaces are a file on the computer.

I would recommend using the "Share" function for grids so you have a backup, and just save the link. Unfortunately there isn't any way to truly export those.

Tks, it seems that we need to share one by one
