this is the NFLX 1-Day chart.
looking at in on Sunday Feb 5 2023.

despite the most recent trading day closing below the close of the previous trading day, the candle is green.
presumably because it's higher than the open. but still..... i think this is a bad way to present the data. the candle ought to be red.

webull, for example, has the candle red. i think this is a more honest presentation.

any way to change this in settings? or

If I see a red candle, I expect the close to be the bottom of the body of the candle. Since the close is, in this case, the top of the body of the candle, and the open is the bottom of the candle, I can tell that the price closed higher than it opened, therefore green is the correct colour. If the candle were red, as in the webull example, I would expect the close to be the bottom of the body, and be thoroughly confused at the close being so far above the price at which the bottom is drawn. It's all about how you read the candle and what you're accustomed to. If you plot a line chart, today would be red, as the close is below the previous close. but by candles, it is as I expect it to be; candles are self contained and not dependent on the previous candle at all.

just my 2.8¢ (inflation adjusted)

you're actually completely right i read candles that way as well....just wasnt thinking about it since i was focused on the data point that it closed lower than prev day. lol

was looking at "day candle bull trap" examples

shrugs. i guess i do prefer TOS's way then. s'just by the book and true.
