I have an indicator that performs a certain calculation on a chart bringing data from another symbol. This works fine except when I try to bring in VIX data. The ticker I use is "VIX" as it appears in the lists of all the symbols in the tool. Is there any other way to get this data?

plot Data = close("VIX"); is correct, something else must be wrong. It could simply be a scaling issue on an upper study, or it could be that you're pulling NaN from VIX during extended hours, it could be a lot of things really.
