Add Symbols in front of plot and allow the sorting columns

I have went through many posts and I realize in order to sort correctly 'plot' must be used. As I was just about to accept that and ignore the addition of symbols to the results in my custom columns, I realized the built-in column headers are able to be sorted with symbols in front of them. the last time someone asked about this was a year ago (or so far from what I've found), so I'm just wondering if anyone has found a work-around for this?

Edit: Thanks to everyone for time and effort you've put in to allow many of us to do some pretty amazing things. Just a week ago I had zero knowledge of Thinkscript and thanks to many of you, there's not much I can't do today. This is just one piece that's very frustrating to me, and I'm sure many to many others as well.

hello and welcome

you wrote a lot of words without clearly asking a question, so i will make some guesses.

plot produces numbers, which sort correctly in a column, right to left.

when a column study uses addlabel to create text output, it sorts left to right.
for text to sort correctly, filler characters may have to added, so every item has the same quantity of characters.

this is an example that adds several characters, leading, trailing, other.
