What's an ideal way to code for uptrending moving average?

I was thinking something like this for either 50, 100, 200 as they move slower, but not sure if there is a better way:

Code:
uptrend = SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100) > SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100)[10];

Here is an image.

We can clearly see the red moving average is in a uptrend, along with the whitish yellow color below it

Solution

I'm guessing you're wanting this code for a scan? If so, you may want to try something more like:

uptrend = SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100) > SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100)[10] and SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100)[10] > SimpleMovingAvg(close, 100)[20];

or whatever amount of bars you feel would define the uptrend you're looking for.

Thanks. I guess I will try playing with different amounts of bars.

What is your definition of "uptrending?"

When a stock is above all the moving averages like that, anyone can see that it's in an up trend.
