Volume Overlay Scaling

First post,

I'm trying to make a volume bar overlay similar to the default ones available in the background but I want to scale them as they get in the way of my candles. Is there a way to scale my volume bars? I tried to make a scale larger than the volume so it would shrink but it dissapeared. Here is my code:

# Volume Bars

declare lower;
input lowLimit=0;
input highLimit=10000000;
declare zerobase;

input length = 50;

plot Vol = Between(volume, lowLimit, highLimit);
plot VolAvg = Average(volume, length);

Vol.SetPaintingStrategy(PaintingStrategy.HISTOGRAM);
Vol.SetLineWeight(1);
Vol.DefineColor("Up", Color.UPTICK);
Vol.DefineColor("Down", Color.DOWNTICK);
Vol.AssignValueColor(if close > close[1] then Vol.color("Up") else if close < close[1] then Vol.color("Down") else GetColor(1));
VolAvg.SetDefaultColor(GetColor(8));

Thanks in advance

your plot vol , is a true false value, 1 or 0.
when plotting that with the average, the 2 plots are going to be pushed far apart vertically, and appear as horizontal lines, one at top of window, and one at the bottom.

try this ,
Code:
input highLimit=500000;
plot Vol = if Between(volume, lowLimit, highLimit) then volume else highlimit;
