Was wondering if anyone wrote a Thinkscript to auto exit a trade based on the moving average indicator, i have been working on it but not much luck, Can anyone share their wisdom?

i was trying to work on a script that can exit a trade when a condition is met but not much luck, is there TOS can look at previous 2 candles and match with a condition?

This is one piece of the code
------------------------------------------------
def EMA9 = expAverage(close, 9);

plot study = close > EMA9 and close[1] >EMA9;
------------------------------------------------

2nd try
close("period" = AggregationPeriod.FIVE_MIN, "priceType" = PriceType.BID) is greater than MovAvgExponential()."AvgExp"
  1. Simple Conditional Orders can be used as exit strategies
  2. Conditional Orders use the same syntax as the Scan Hacker
Therefore, you can put in:
Ruby:
close crosses below expAverage(close, 9)
As a valid exit strategy.
keep in mind that moving averages lag 1/2 the length. Google moving average lag to learn more.

No one can comment on the 2nd part of your post as you did not provide...

go ahead and post the code that you tried, and tell us what it isn't doing.

can you come up with a list of exact rules/conditions, that would determine when to act, to exit?
then formulas could be created.
