Plot a calculation

I am trying to thinkscript the following:

declare lower;
input symbol1 = "aud/jpy";
input val1 = "100"; # Val, data condition or ?
def data1 = close(symbol1) + val1;
plot data1;

try this, replace you plot statement with this one

plot z = data1;

plot is like def. it evaluates an expression, then sets a value to a new variable.


i am not familiar with currency symbols, so not sure if your symbol1 has a valid symbol.
i found this site, that lists symbols

plot z = data1; seems to work but ;

def data1 = close(symbol1) + val1;

data1 shows an error " expected double"

ooh i didn't notice before...
remove the quotes from this
. input val1 = "100";

so it is a number, not text
input val1 = 100;
