Even/Odd Numbers

I need a formula to determine if a number is even or odd. I assumed there would be an IsEven() function but there isn't. There's probably some simple math function to use but I'm not seeing it. Thoughts?

Solution
you can write scripts to use inside your studies:
Code:
script IsEven {
input n;
plot return = if n % 2 == 0 then 1 else 0;
}

def data = CLOSE;
plot myfunc = IsEven(data);

Hopefully that gets you moving in a happy direction with your code

Let's say the number is 3.

3/2 is 1.5 not 0.
You are correct. But the % operator is not the division operator: /

see this page:
https://tlc.thinkorswim.com/center/reference/thinkScript/Operators/Arithmetic
in the docs for a rundown.

The % operator is called Remainder by ToS and often modulo by other languages. 3 / 2 is 1 remainder 1, therefore the function does not return true and the script returns 0 (the value is not even) If you take 4 / 2, the answer is 2 remainder 0 and the function IsEven() would return true (1) since the remainder ( 4 % 2 == 0 ) is true.

You asked for a way to determine if a number is even, and mashume gave you a study to do that.
the sub script iseven output is one ,(true) when an even number is evaluated.
the sub script iseven output is 0, (false) when an odd number is evaluated.

you could add this to his code, To display a label when a number is even.

addlabel( myfunc, close + " is even", color.yellow);

....
One thing I am not sure of is, how non integer numbers are evaluated by the % remainder method.
