Format Watchlist Text In ThinkOrSwim

How would I change the color of the text To Black what do I have to change or add ? Thank You

Code:
# creates custom watch list column that says "bullish" in green when both price > 50sma AND 50sma > 200sma
# or that says "bearish" in red when both price < 50sma AND 50sma < 200sma

# note the two risky or uncertain times are currently blank cells, both critera have been defined so that risky50over200 and risky200over50 could be used to create labels and/or color-coding for those conditions as well (via editing the AddLabel and/or the AssignBackgroundColor lines of code)

def x = SimpleMovingAvg("length" = 50);
def y = SimpleMovingAvg("length" = 200);

def risky50over200 = x > y AND close < x;
def risky200over50 = x < y AND close > x;

def bullish = close > x AND x > y;
def bearish = close < x AND x < y;

AddLabel (yes, if bearish then "bearish  " else if bullish then "bullish  " else " ");

AssignBackgroundColor (if bearish then color.RED else if bullish then color.GREEN else color.LIGHT_GRAY);

I would like to add some color to my labels but I have been unable to do so. Here's the code;

Code:
AddLabel(yes, if Price > YestHigh then "Above" else if Price < YestLow then "Below" else "Inside");

I would like to make "Above" Color.UPTICK, "Below" Color.UPTICK, and "Inside" Color.RED.
Thanks for the help!

@Robby Luca Try something like the following... Or do you need the complete logic...???

Ruby:
AddLabel(yes, Price, if Price > YestHigh then Color.UPTICK else if Price < YestLow then Color.UPTICK else Color.RED);

I am trying following test script to have variable for color, some how LabelColor is not taking YELLOW as default it always shows PLUM color by default.

Not sure whats wrong with this script

Code:
#LABEL COLOR TEST
input LabelColor = {default "YELLOW", "CYAN", "PINK", "LIGHT_GRAY", "ORANGE", "RED", "GREEN", "GRAY", "WHITE"};

def dollarvol = VWAP* volume;
Addlabel (yes, dollarvol,getColor(labelColor));

Addlabel (yes, "New" , Color.YELLOW);
#dollarvol.SetDefaultColor(GetColor(LabelColor));

@prap4trading The flaw in your logic appears to be the method you are using to assign colors... You can't pass a variable to the GetColor() function, only a constant number... You also can't pass a variable like Color.LabelColor either... It would be simpler to stick with SetDefaultColor(Color.YELLOW) and simply change to color in the lower section of the Study Settings Panel... Why make things more complicated than they need to be...??? You would have to go into the panel anyway to use a fancy color selector so why not use what Thinkorswim has already made easy for you...???

You may want to look at the "DefineGlobalColor()" function.

Ruby:
DefineGlobalColor("Label Color", Color.YELLOW);
AddLabel(yes, "Hello World", GlobalColor("Label Color"));

The label color can then be changed under the "Globals" section of the script settings.

# choose a color for a label
# --------------

# a variable or formula can be used to source a number to getcolor().
# if a formula is used, all the terms have to trace back to be a constant, not a complex function.

# this doesn't assign the color in quotes.
# the location of the picked color in the series, is changed to a number
# ex. pink is the 3rd number. 3 is saved in color1_choice
input Color1_choice = {default "magenta", "cyan", "pink", "gray", "orange", "red", "green", "dark_gray", "yellow", "white"};

# disable the above input line and enable this one, to see that the name doesn't matter,
# it is the location in the series that is passed on to the variable
#input Color1_choice = {default "x0", "x1", "x2", "x3", "x4", "x5", "x6", "x7", "x8", "x9" };

AddLabel(yes, "test1 " + Color1_choice , GetColor(Color1_Choice));

# an alternative way, could use switch-case to set a variable to a number, to be a color number.

#  getcolor()   sequence of colors

This is not working for "yellow"

Hi, I have this script and would like to be able to change the background of the label. Any suggestions how I might accomplish this? The code is below
Code:
declare upper;

input ATRLength = 14;
input averagetype = AverageType.WILDERS;
input BasePeriod = AggregationPeriod.DAY;
input showlabel = yes;

def ATR = MovingAverage (averagetype, TrueRange(high(period = BasePeriod)[1], close(period = BasePeriod)[1], low(period = BasePeriod)[1]), ATRLength);

def Today_High = Highest(high(period = baseperiod)[0], 1);
def Today_Low = Lowest(low(period =baseperiod)[0], 1);

def DR = Today_High - Today_Low;

AddLabel(showlabel, "Day:" + Round(DR , 2) + " vs ATR:" +round(ATR,2));

How To Change Multiple Plot Colors With One Setting

input color1 = {"magenta", "green", "pink", default "cyan", "orange", "red", "blue", "gray", "violet"};

plot avg7 = ExpAverage(close, length);
avg7.SetPaintingStrategy(PaintingStrategy.HORIZONTAL);
avg7.SetDefaultColor(getcolor(color1));
avg7.HideBubble();
avg7.SetLineWeight(1);
avg7.SetStyle(Curve.SHORT_DASH);
